In your 4 (or 5, or 6) years at college, you come to intimately know the different types of people there are on campus. You refine your judgmental abilities nearly to a science – with a single glance at someone’s attire or hairstyle, you can instantly peg them in a predefined category of student, whether hipster, frat guy, or video game nerd. While this isn’t the most fair way to assess your peers in college, it certainly comes naturally enough, and you’ll even be surprised from time to time as to how perfectly certain people fit into the mental cubbies you establish for them upon first meeting them. And interestingly enough, when you move to the other side of the classroom later in life – as teacher instead of student – you’ll find that the types really don’t change that much. Styles come and go; but college students are forever.
